Students: Everything You Need to Know for National Awards Week 2023

National Awards Week is an exciting time filled with fun events that celebrate your achievement! Check out the daily schedule below to see what’s happening, where, and when.

June 7

Registration

Time: 10:00–4:00 pm
Location: New York Marriot Marquis, 1535 Broadway

Stop by registration to pick up your guest tickets to the National Ceremony. Ticket pick-up is not available at Carnegie Hall. Students must wear the medal that was shipped to their home prior to Awards Week as their ticket.

Tickets for the National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall MUST be picked up during registration. Tickets to the Ceremony CANNOT be obtained at Carnegie Hall. Additional tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis in the cancellation line at the Marriot Marquis on June 8, 2:00–3:00 pm or until supplies last.

Students will be professionally photographed with their medals and Scholastic Awards merchandise will be available for purchase via credit or debit card only. The Gold Key Boutique is cash-free.

Time: 10:00 am–6:00 pm
Locations: Scholastic Inc., 130 Mercer AND Affirmation Arts, 523 W. 37th Street

Gold Medal and Silver Medal with Distinction artwork will be on display at two locations in New York City. Visit our National Exhibition blog post to learn more.

Proof of vaccination is required to attend the exhibition and events at Scholastic Inc. (130 Mercer Street), so please come prepared with a paper or digital copy of your Covid-19 vaccination record.

Mandatory Dress Rehearsal for Students

Time: 3:30–4:30 pm
Location: Carnegie Hall Stage Door, 161 West 56th Street (between 6th & 7th Avenues)

Tips for students:

  • Eat before you arrive!
  • Charge your phone!
  • Your medal is your ticket—make sure your guests have their tickets before you enter the building for rehearsal!
  • Students will be seated in a separate section from their guests. Make sure you have a plan for where you will meet your guests after the Ceremony!
  • Doors open at 5:00 pm for guests and educators.

National Ceremony at Carnegie Hall

Time: 6:00–7:00 pm
Location: Carnegie Hall, 881 7th Ave

Doors open at 5:00 pm for guests and educators. The Ceremony begins promptly at 6:00 pm.
