Announcing the 2021 Recipients of The Herblock Award for Editorial Cartoon!

The Herblock Award for Editorial Cartoon, sponsored by The Herb Block Foundation, was created to celebrate the legacy of four-time Pulitzer Prize–winning cartoonist Herb Block. This award recognizes three students who exhibit exceptional skill in editorial cartooning in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and provides each student with a $1,000 scholarship.

From the political divide in the United States to environmental issues, this year’s recipients created powerful pieces of artwork that offered insightful commentaries on the current events affecting all of us.

Want to apply for this scholarship next year? Learn how to get ready for the 2022 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards or sign up for a reminder on September 1, when the 2022 Scholastic Awards open for entry!
