One of the core tenets of the Scholastic Awards is publishing and promoting teen art and writing. Every year, we print books featuring award-winning art and writing by teens from across the country and Canada. Works are selected for publication based on many factors, such as regional representation, demographics, content, and length/size. We try to publish a wide variety of works to showcase the diversity of opinions and viewpoints of the teens who participated in that year’s program. In addition to the art and writing books, we publish a Yearbook, which lists the names of all the year’s National Medalists and serves as an annual record of the Awards.

These books were distributed for free at our Awards Week celebration to hundreds of teens, their families, and their educators. For teens who could not attend Awards Week, free copies of the publications will be mailed to them over the summer.
