Meet the Alliance Board: Julia Pistor

The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers’ Board of Directors is made up of dedicated individuals who work closely with Alliance staff to support our mission of empowering creative teens through programs like the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and more.

The Alliance was excited to welcome Julia Pistor as a Board Member in October 2024. With over 20 years of leadership experience in family entertainment, Julia brings a unique blend of creative expertise and strategic vision. Julia’s career includes over a decade at Nickelodeon, where she built and led the brand’s award-winning feature film division, producing iconic films such as The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, The Rugrats Movies, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. She later played a key role in revitalizing the Barbie brand at Mattel, transforming it into a modern platform with successful digital content and the record-breaking Barbie live-action film.

Today, Julia runs her own production and consulting company, where she continues to create and produce compelling content. Her passion for storytelling and supporting creative talent makes her a fantastic fit for the Alliance.

Julia holds a BA from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and is a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, The Producers Guild of America, Women in Animation, and The Television Academy. She resides in Los Angeles with her family.
