The Herblock Award for Editorial Cartoon, sponsored by The Herb Block Foundation, was created to celebrate the legacy of four-time Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Herb Block. This award recognizes three students who exhibit exceptional skill in editorial cartooning in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards and provides each student with a $1,000 scholarship.

From the political strife in the United States over topics such as immigration and gun control to the fight for free speech in Hong Kong, this year’s recipients created powerful pieces of artwork that offered insightful commentary on the current events affecting all of us.
