The Alliance for Young Artists & Writers is heartbroken to announce the passing of accomplished scholar and art historian Dr. William W. Robinson. A beloved member of the Alliance’s Board of Directors, Bill Robinson has provided unwavering support, guidance, and wisdom since the nonprofit was established in the early 1990s. His passion for the Alliance’s mission has been foundational to the success of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
From 1988 until 2015, Robinson served as a curator at the Morgan Library & Museum and Harvard Art Museums. He was also the editor of Master Drawings, the leading American journal for Dutch drawings, and played a vital role in the development of the successful Art Study Center at Harvard. Please join us in honoring Bill Robinson’s lasting impact on the Scholastic Awards and in extending our deepest condolences to his wife, Nancy; his daughters, Lillian and Charlotte; his sisters, Sue, Barbara, and Dover; and the entire Robinson family.
