Join the Alliance and editorial cartoonist Shreyas Navare for this 3-week workshop series on illustration and freedom of expression!
Shreyas Navare is a New York City-based cartoonist, creative entrepreneur, and Scholastic Art & Writing Awards juror. As the Editorial Cartoonist for the Hindustan Times (2007-18), he has covered several elections in India and the U.S. HarperCollins has published two books of his cartoons, with the foreword for the first book penned by the 11th President of India, Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam. Shreyas has held many solo international cartoon exhibitions and some of his original artworks are part of the collection of the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.
During each workshop, Shreyas will discuss his artistic process, his professional journey as an editorial cartoonist, and advice he has for artists submitting to this Scholastic Awards. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their work alongside their peers from around the country through guided illustration exercises facilitated by Shreyas. RSVPs will be capped at 75 participants per session – please only register for one session per participant.
