Meet the Teens Whose Creative Work Earned Them Scholarships in the 2022 Scholastic Awards

In addition to the scholarships offered to the Gold Medal Portfolio Award and Silver Medal With Distinction Award winners, the Alliance partners with organizations to provide extra opportunities for scholarships and recognition. Congratulations to the nearly fifty teens whose creative work earned them $500 or $1,000 scholarships!

Best-in-Grade Award

Underwritten by Bloomberg Philanthropies, this award is presented to two artists and two writers in each grade level of the Scholastic Awards, chosen from Gold Medal work across all categories.

Underwritten by The Herb Block Foundation, this award celebrates the legacy of four-time Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonist Herb Block.

New York Life Award

(National: $1,000 Scholarships / State: $500 Scholarships)

Underwritten by the New York Life Foundation, the National New York Life Award offers $1,000 scholarships to six students whose works explore personal grief and loss. State scholarships of $500 are available to two students from each of the following states: Arizona, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, and Tennessee.
