September holds much excitement, as educators welcome back their students to the classroom and submissions open for the 2019 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Yet, there’s an even greater flurry this fall as twelve art educators and painters are scheduled to show in Artists & Mentors: A group exhibition on view at The Painting Center in New York City. Each of the exhibiting artists have served in residency at the Sam and Adele Golden Foundation and have students who received Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. We hope you’ll come and see the show!

Artists & Mentors is an exciting culmination of GOLDEN’s efforts to recognize, showcase, and support the talent of artists who have also been recognized as mentors of their students’ efforts. GOLDEN CEO, Mark Golden said “Artists & Mentors seeks to honor these teaching artists with the recognition that their work deserves. It is no small feat to both teach a full-time schedule in our schools and to carry on a studio practice. The show, curated by Jim Walsh, and with support from The Painting Center, allows us to share the talent of these amazing artists and educators.”
