The official traveling exhibition of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is coming back to the East Coast! The Art.Write.Now.Tour 2014-2015 opens at the Catskills Art Society on February 21! More than 100 pieces of art and writing, plus the complete works of the five National Student Poets, are available for all visitors to see, read and experience.

The Art.Write.Now.Tour, now in it’s fifth year, is an important part of the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards as it not only shares the bold and original works of our nation’s most creative teens, but it also inspires other students to express their talent and for adults to spread the word to teens in their lives. The 2014-15 Tour was curated by notable artist Kay WalkingStick, an alumna of the 1948 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.  In her curatoratorial statement, Kay notes that, “The truly wonderful thing about these artworks is the overall sense of joy in them. They are all so intelligent, mature, and sophisticated—and many of them are very witty as well. I applaud these young people for their achievement.”

The show runs from February 21 – March 22, 2015 with a free public reception on February 21 from 3-5pm. To check out a sneak peek of the artwork check out this awesome Flickr page and you can purchase your very own copy of The Best Teen Writing of 2014 to read the writing that is included in the show.
